Issuing health permit through:.
  • Visiting the shops & the properties that its activities involve in foods &public health .
  • Insuring the application of hygiene conditions .
  • Approving the drawings of shops utilities .
  • Approving the validity of vehicles that transfer food stuff to specify its suitability & validity .
Controlling the food and preventing cheating in the foodstuff through the following actions :.
  • Carrying out visiting & inspection for commercial shops that deal with food & public hygiene .
  • Monitoring commercial shops that prepare or rendering food to the public .
  • Taking sample of food for inspection & checking .
  • Writing minutes of violation , instructing the violating places to [resent before the concern authority at the municipality .
  • Closing the violating shop & stop practicing the activity .
  • Seizing the foodstuff doubtful of in its validity .
  • Supervising destruction of bad food stuff at the dump site
  • Destruction of the invalid food during periodical official visit
Approving the safety data sheet of the repacked food stuff :
First checking the written information stated on the company products packing , insuring that the information comply with Oman standard specifications regarding safety information sheet .

Checking includes the followings
  • Country of Origin
  • Date of production & the expiry date .
  • Packing and the net weight .
  • The commercial name & the type of material .
  • Mentioning place of Origin, company name & address that pack the product .
  • Must write the following expression (Maintain your City hygiene)
The local ordinance tackles this issue NO. (22/91) Protection of the public health. (Chapter 3 + 4)
