The Executive Body of the Municipality is responsible for the following:
  • Take the required procedures to maintain public cleanliness, protective health, and fighting pests and rodents.
  • Issue health licenses in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Monitor foodstuff and inspect foods to ensure their validity and monitor the related outlets to ensure their compliance and the compliance of workers therein.
  • Monitor and fight cheating in foodstuff collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Provide and supervise slaughterhouses and inspect cattle before and after slaughtering.
  • Fill in moors in open public areas and oblige building owners to do the same if the moors are at their properties.
  • Build public sewage and take the required procedures for rainwater drainage.
  • Provide the equipment and means for preparing and transferring the dead and specify graveyards and protect their sacredness in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Prepare the annual budget project of the Municipality.
  • Prepare the budgets of the Municipality projects.
  • Provide suggestions regarding the imposition of taxes, charges, and revenues and their collection means and refer them to Municipal Council for consideration.
  • Issue and renew construction permits and permits for renovation, amendment and demolishing and monitoring the debilitated buildings.
  • Build streets, roads, public squares, and widen, pave and maintain them as per the approved plan in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Light streets, squares, roads, and maintain them in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Apply the system of naming the streets and numbering the buildings.
  • Build markets, widen and maintain them.
  • Regulate markets, stores, crafts, and stores of dangerous and annoying materials in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Choose, prepare parking lots and passenger shades, and traffic signs in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Build gardens, parks and children's playgrounds, public toilets and afforestation.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with competent authorities in case of disasters.
  • Monitor billboards and ads in collaboration with the competent authorities.
  • Monitor strayed animals in public locations.
  • Any other related tasks prescribed by the Minister.
