Trader looking to clear all the procedures for the products in one place, and the response to this, and integrated building has been constructed includes the management team in Al-Mawaleh Market and other government agencies as follows: Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries: includes two sections as follows:

Agricultural Quarantine Section:

This section is responsible for the control of the process of health monitoring of agricultural imports, which is defined as a package of legislation, regulations and procedures imposed by the State to control the movement of plants and plant products to prevent or delay the entry of agricultural pests and diseases to areas still remains free, and from this given definition, we can be seen the significant role played by this section, which comes under the organizational structural of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in order to preserve the public health through prevention of agricultural pests and diseases.

Market Information Office:

This office intends pf organizing the process of import from abroad, where the trader who wants to import has to fill-up the application form related to the “import of agricultural products” and stating the amount, type and country of origin of products, and the Office will follow-up the product prices in the wholesale and retail markets.

Office of the Royal Oman Police (Directorate General of Customs):

The role of this office comes after filling up the application form by the merchant for the “import of agricultural products” whereas this office will facilitate the customs clearance process which includes checking of some simple documents such agricultural certificate from country of origin, invoices for the purchase of goods, and it should be noted here that most of the vegetables and fruits imported at Al-Mawaleh Central Market are exempt from customs duties.
