The Council form out of his members (5) main committees ,to carry out the responsibilities stated below and to submit its recommendations to the council , the council has right to form one or more committee for carrying out limited permanent of temporary jobs according to the work requirements .

Public Health Committee :

It studies any submitted issues regarding the heath issues related to the municipality and c submits it recommendations to the municipal council , it submits the suitable recommendation for reservation of the public health & health protection in the limit of Muscat governorate

Public Affairs Committee

It studies the submitted issues connected to the markets, gardens , landscape lighting works , beautification of the city & matters connected to the public Affairs &social features that included in the municipality responsibility .

The Legal Committee :

It studies and submits proposals of the local ordinals , municipality regulations and studying any legal issue submitted to the committee & issuing the necessary recommendations about it to the municipal; council .

Projects & Financial Affairs Committee .

  • Studying the budget development project of the municipality and submitting the necessary recommendations to the municipal council .
  • Giving proposal for the general frame of the municipality project plan .
  • Giving proposals for priorities of executing the municipality projects in the framework of the 5th plan within the approved provisions .
  • Submitting proposals for effective methods of collecting the municipality revenues .
  • Submitting proposals for developing the internal regulation of the municipality , and the required amendments to consolidate the development of the work system in the financial field .
  • Studying the financial issues submitted by the municipal council &giving the efficient opinions .

Traffic Committee :.

  • Studying the submitted issues regarding constructions , widening & maintenance of roads .
  • Studying projects regarding selection &preparation of car parking , roundabouts , passenger sheds and traffic lights .
  • studying the significant proposals for solution of traffic crowding and means of making smooth Traffic moving .
  • Studying the passengers taxi Tariff .
  • studying all issues relating to Traffic services

The Awareness & counseling Committee :.

Responsibility of the committee

  • Designing the planning and the programs for awareness & guidance , specifying the activities nature that should be developed and limiting the priorities & mechanism of implementation .
  • Co-ordination between the committee and the executive apparatus of the municipality and other government authorities to cover the issues related to awareness among c the citizens .
  • Inviting the responsible & specialists working ay the municipality to conduct lectures & Seminars about the municipality issues .
  • designing & preparation of the health awareness program for the executive apparatus of the municipality band making performance assessment .
  • Carrying out co-ordination with the concerns in the executive apparatus of the municipality for providing guidance programs .
  • Inviting the initiatives & authors to design targeted playing programs for awareness..
  • the committee submits its recommendations to the municipal council regarding developing the guidance & awareness programs .
  • Co-ordination between the related ministries , Establishments & government authorities to make use of its experiences .
  • the committee hold periodical meetings not less than (8) meetings during the year and submits its reports to the municipal council
