First : Construction & Building Services :.

It is not allowed to start building of any project nor adding any part to it or demolishing the same wholly or partially or making any amendment in its outer or inner shape or changing its features or appearance or opening window or door , unless the owner obtains prior permit from the municipality . Owner should abide to the approved paint color of his property and not allowed to change it without prior approval . “Vide the Local Ordinance NO. 23/92 and its amendments . (regarding Regulation of buildings in Muscat) .

Greater Building permits Services :.

It is a permit issued by the Municipality to the owner of the property to practice the building issued by the municipality (Department of Building Permit ) after checking all the documents and the detailed drawings of the proposed building .

Minor building permit & Overhauling :.

Minor building permit : I t is permit issued by the municipality after verifying the documents of building & the plot on which the property is constructed . it is issued for secondary additional at the old areas and for any other small works not required detailed drawings .

Overhauling permit : It permit issued bb the municipality after verifying the official documents of the property and the plot on which it is constructed, it will be issued in case of maintenance providing that the maintenance does not include any amendments in the property in the construction or building materials .

  • Construction of attachment out side the main building & within the same plot providing that the building not exceeding 50. SQM .
  • Fixing of Interlocks , Park sheds , painting of the house , swimming pool ect……

Technical Inspection Services :.
  • Conducting visiting to the private properties and shops for practicing commercial activities to ensure the availability of the required technical conditions . (press here ) . (List of activities required technical inspections)
  • Supervising of buildings under construction and following up all building stages to ensure that the construction is executed & progressing according to the approved drawings .

    No certificate of building commencement or completion or connection of electricity & water or refund of insurance will be issued , unless obtaining approval form the concern inspectors .
  • - There are inspection rounds for controlling the violations depending on observations from the officials and residents .
