The level of hygiene in Muscat city which was praised by many of the regional & international organizations that care for public hygiene affairs , public health and protection of the environment , this is reached after long walk of the field experience practiced by Muscat Municipality in different stages of development and improving the hygiene services in the city .

For example , the local ordinance NO. (22/91) regarding public hygiene , this ordinance tackles a lot of articles that dealing with the public feature conservation & safety of the environment .

We can summarized the municipality functions in the field of the public hygiene which aims to conserve the city hygiene .
  • Providing leftovers containers at the different areas .
  • Transferring the waste &leftovers from different areas to the dump centers
  • cleaning of roads, public squares , streets & lanes .
  • Filling all the swamps in the open & public places .
  • Monitoring the stray animals at the public areas .
  • controlling the hygiene violation .
  • Control of waste drainage violation .
This all included in the local ordinance NO. (22/91) protection of the public Hygiene. The local ordinance NO.( 1/2006) regarding organizing the breeding of animals. The following Services should be applied for obtaining from the municipality:.
  • Application for leftovers container .
  • Application for transferring the leftover container .
  • Pruning of trees or cutting off the trees .
