Rent Contracts
Application for renewal and approval of rent cont
The applicant submits the application
After filling the specified Form
rent contract form ( signed by the two parties)
The required documents
original or copy of the rent contract to be renewed
Copy of specimen signature in case it differs from the signature put in the previous contract.

Place :Rent Contracts Department at the directorate as per the location of the property.
Time: 8:00am to 12:00 noon
The personnel concerned at the Muscat Municipality shall retrieve details of the original contract from the system to verify the details of the contract.

type of activity
Any amendment in the details of landlord or lessee.
Terms and conditions
In case of any change to the type of activity during renewal of the contract, the matter may require health or technical inspection (in case of activities that require inspection). The procedures followed in case of inspection for registration of the contract shall be followed in case of renewal of the contract.
in case of approval, the client has to pay the fees as follows:-
Rent contract renewal form
RO 1
Example: in case the monthly rent is RO 100/- for one year.
(RO 100 x 12 months) x 3% = RO 36/- Contract renewal fees shall be calculated as follows ( the monthly rent value x the term of the contract ) x 3%
In case of delay in renewal for more than one month from the date of expiry of the contact, the landlord has to pay a fine to be calculated as follows: - monthly rent value x (number of days of delay x 12 x (365/9%)
After payment, the personnel concerned at the municipality shall stamp the contract and hands over two copies, one for the landlord and one for the lessee.
