Within the ongoing preparations for the participation in the healthiest district competition in Muscat, the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Al-Seeb on Sunday organized an open day, public sanitation campaigns and service labor camp in Al-Khoud Ash-Sha`by district, nominated by the Directorate to participate in this annual competition in 2012.
The campaign, which starts today after the Asr prayer in Al-Janah Al-Aswad in Al-Khoud area is participated by a number of civil and sports teams, school students, the youth in the area, in addition to the municipal workers in sanitation and health affairs departments and technical divisions as well.
The program of the campaign involves a range of service projects within the area, notably painting old houses, removal of waste and deformities, implementation of a sanitation campaign including sweeping the streets and corridors between the district houses, as well as trimming trees and insect and rodent control, promoting people`s awareness about the healthy methods to get rid of household waste, adding the aesthetic touches to the facilities, and establishing the principle of cooperation between members of the community to maintain the health of districts clean and healthy.
