Introduction:
The open data policy is one of the pioneering practices that reflect organizations keenness for continuous development by opening up to its customers through providing all data and information they require in a transparent and smooth manner, enabling them to prepare studies and researches necessary to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The Information Technology Authority has prepared a special policy for open government data entitled "Open Government Data Policy", with the aim of implementing it on all government agencies which the same policy applied to Muscat Municipality open data.
Publishing policies:
The Data related to approved services will be published and imported from the various system databases used in Muscat Municipality, taking into account the following:

- Data of individuals and institutions will not be published.
- Recent and periodic data
- Annual and monthly data
- Descriptive tables will be provided for identification fields (e.g, Wilayts, Governorate, etc.)
- Storing Data in widely used and automatically processable formats (xml, xls).
- Files contain the date of publication.
- Data will be available to everyone without restrictions.
