Municipality of Muscat inaugurates the duplicated road of Bosher for traffic
• Expansion of Jal roundabout for free circumvent to return to Muscat highway
• Optical intersection, pedestrian bridge and pedestrian corridors in the project

The municipality of Muscat inaugurated the project of the duplicated road of Bosher for traffic for vehicles according to the highest road engineering standards, as the road extends from the sixth intersection in Muscat highway and until Jal roundabout opposite Muscat private hospital. This inauguration represents a fundamental and important point in facilitating and streamlining the traffic in Bosher, especially as it witnesses the implementation of investment projects and modern commercial buildings, which will affect the traffic in opening commercial and investment horizons more bigger in the future.
Elements of the project
The project which has been accomplished includes the establishment of the duplicated road in both directions with a total length of 2 square km and a width of 3.65 meters per track, in addition to external shoulders with a width of 2 meters. It includes also the establishment of pedestrian corridors paved with interlaced bricks for in both directions with a width of 2 m.
Currently, the last touches of the remaining work in the implementation of the pedestrian bridge located at the opposite side of the school of Imam Mehanna ben Sultan in Bosher are set as the bridge is important for the pedestrian traffic to move between the two sides easily and smoothly . The bridge is implemented in the middle of the area, as it is full of the educational institutions, commercial activities and residential and urban buildings. The bridge serves all the pedestrian segments, disabled and the special cases and it was equipped with all necessary safety means.
Traffic light
The project also includes the implementation of a traffic light at the intersection leading to the "Mena" heights to serve the fourth stage in Bosher, Ghala and Ansab. It also includes the expansion of Jal roundabout opposite Muscat private hospital with two tracks and the establishment of free tracks for swirling in every side and the expansion of the roundabout to be able to attract the largest number of vehicles. A new track for free swirling, shaped (U), was established for the coming and wishing to return to Muscat highway, which significantly reduces the pressure on the existing roundabout, as this leads to the high efficiency of the performance of the roundabout and facilitating the traffic flow.
Improving traffic efficiency
The aim of the municipality for the implementation of this project in Bosher is the improvement and promoting the efficiency of the traffic as it experiences a high traffic as the road links the commercial area in Bosher to the road of the main Sultan Qaboos st., Muscat highway, the royal hospital, the industrial zone in Ghala and Azaiba and Ghubra regions and the roads leading to Al-khuwair region.
