Muscat municipality closes (4 shops) and damages more than (ten tons) of food through (2027) visits

The specialists in inspection and food control departments at Muscat municipality had made recently a number of (1019) surprising periodic inspection visits for roaming vendors, stores and the factories located in the governorate of Muscat.
The visits had led to the release of (70) medical violations, the closure of (4) shops for the violation of the approved medical requirements, damaging (345.5) kg, (150) boxes of expired food and food unfit for human consumption.
As to the central citrus market, which is regarded as the main destination for selling vegetables and fruits, the specialists had made (1008) inspection visits which had led to the release of five violations and damaging (74415) kg from the different vegetables and fruits unfit for human consumption for several reasons, including the virtual mold and the long-term storage which had led to their corruption.
The specialists in inspection and food control departments at the directorate of Muscat municipality at Amerat had launched an awareness campaign for school students in the region that touched the most important health rules that must be observed to ensure the health and safety of food and the scientific basis upon which the food inspection process depends.
