Muscat Municipality Continues inspection campaigns and close 4 shops
The competent officials in departments of food control and inspection at Muscat Municipality made (1035) inspection visits recently resulted in the closure of (4) Shops and made 67 police reports for food facilities and shops related to public health which didn`t meet the requirements of the approved health terms.
During these visits, they destroyed foodstuffs unfit for human consumption amounted to 135 kg and (1271) packages for Expiry and failure to follow the correct methods in conservation processes, in addition to (51) pieces unfit for use.
The competent officials also made (1007) inspection visits to the central citrus market where they noticed 4 violations and destroyed (17780) kg of oranges which are harmful for human consumption because of being mold, in addition to (98) carton of eggs because of the termination of the expiry dates.
Muscat Municipality calls consumers for constant communication through the communications center (1111) for any feedback and inquiries.
