Muscat Municipality releases a honoring and incentive guide and honors entrepreneurs

HE Chairman of Muscat Municipality released a honor and incentive system guide in Muscat Municipality which is considered as a detailed Regulations to explain the mechanisms and controls that drives the honoring and incentive system issued under the Bureau resolution No. (1/2009), he also honored (16) employees of those who have contributed by submitting ideas and proposals for the construction and development of this guide.

The submitted ideas focused on a number of topics concerning developing the detailed bases and standards for evaluation and comparison between the candidates entitled for incentives, and building a fair system of rewards rooting the interest in hardworking staff and creators, and proposing new and innovative packages of moral and physical benefits and incentives, as well as the adopted physical incentives system. And provide ideas about the mechanisms of action of the Commission and the modern ways and methods of incentives, and establishing an integrated guide for incentives and honor includes policies, goals and standards, styles and systems and means of incentives, as well as providing ideas on the establishment of a campaign to raise awareness of the bases of incentive and building a positive culture for it

The Aims of the Guide

The aim of this system is to honor the long-term service staff for their valuable efforts they have made over the previous years of service, and to motivate the hardworking staff who gives a distinct performance in various areas of work, to encourage them to continue the good work. And to motivate the hardworking staff, who are committed to work systems and values, in recognition of their role and their eagerness and honesty in performing the tasks assigned to them. And to encourage creators and initiators of constructive proposals, urging them to be creative and innovative through developing innovative and creative ideas. Encouraging hardworking staff in rehabilitation, and encouraging employees to develop their knowledge and skills through the completion of higher education. As well as boost the morale and achieve job satisfaction.

At the municipal level

The guide also seeks to build a fair system to incentive and honor at the municipal level, and the achievement of goals and objectives that the municipality seeks to achieve through upgrading its human resources. And encouraging employees to improve and develop working systems and methods, and to motivate employees to contribute in raising rates of performance and productivity, improve quality, and create a balanced work environment and motivating to creativity, innovation and proficiency in performing the tasks

The guide, which participated in the preparation and review of it a number of competent authorities in the municipality; contains seven chapters, where Chapter I: general provisions on the definition of incentive and identifying its different categories, Chapter II addresses: Controls for honoring long-term service employees, and Chapter III includes: Controls to motivate hardworking employees in rehabilitation, while Chapter IV: controls to motivate hardworking employees in employees motivation systems, Chapter V: under Bureau resolution No. (20/2011), Chapter VI : revolves around controls to motivate entrepreneurs and constructive suggestions , and as for Chapter VII: it contains incentive controls in external participations, a category added by the Commission of incentive and honor to the incentive packages system established in accordance with the burea decisions issued in this regard.

The ideas and proposals made by staff contributed in supporting the efforts made by the Commission of incentive and honor in implementation of the burea resolution No. [64/2012] issued in September last year on the validity of the incentive and rewarding system and staff of Royal Court honoring the staff of Muscat Municipality and the Municipality of Sohar.

This initiative comes within the scope of the interest paid by Muscat Municipality to areas of creativity, innovation and encouraging employees to deliver initiatives and to participate in administrative decision-making, especially those related to the growth and development of human resources

About this honoring, the Honored Employees expressed deep gratitude to this honoring for their initiatives and proposals that they gave to the Commission, employee Iqbal Suleiman Alsiabah said that this honoring is a motivation to her to develop its capabilities to develop the municipal work and develop the incentive system that has a significant impact in improving the performance and the quality of work, and the employee feels that there is a renewed spirit of continuity in an escalating way of good performance, the ideas put forward by the Commission varied between the administrative and technical proposals and ideas serves female staff and other serves all municipal employees.
Amal Gomaa Almchaakhih expressed her pleasance with the warmly honor and she suggested a number of prospects that deal with the mechanism of honoring an employee and motivate him in line with modern management and rehabilitation of human resources, expressing her hope to convert these ideas and visions to improve work levels and achieve successes in various units and departments of Muscat Municipality
