Muscat municipality inaugurates a cross bridges in Wady Adn in the both directions
After many continuous efforts of unstopped work and an important step to facilitate and enhance the traffic, Muscat Municipality inaugurated on Sunday, yesterday, a bridge road on Wady Adn for the coming traffic of Roy and heading towards El Amerate state for traffic in two ways. This after inaugurating the first bridge for traffic, from Amerate to El Karam, two month ago with two lanes in this direction. The bridge contains high traffic capacity in different tracks. The project was designed and executed according to the most modern engineering and global standards measures and standards in designing roads.
The project contains a construction work of the new upper bridge in Wady Ade. The work has been executed using the most upper levels matching in the crosses in bridges in the global cities and transfer the existing traffic circulation to four crosses with light signals.
This net bridge is one of the critical stratigic projects in the Wady Ade district that links El Amerat state to Matrah, and Muscat states. The work was executed according to the time schedule set for it.
Project contents
The remaining part of the project contains executing advanced phases of transferring Wady Ade circulation to a four crosses with light signals, new bridge above the current bridge to serve the traffic from Wady ade to El Sayeeb. A parallel bridge was made for the current bridge to serve the coming traffic from Roy heading to Wady Ade freely without crossing with the other traffic tracks. An upper bridge on the second level above the current bridge was made using iron bars instead of concrete like other bridges in order to speed the constructions works and decrease the traffic jam in the area.
The project contains a development system to drainage water and sewerage net in the area, converting all the electricity and water lines in the project. In addition, clean the mountain water passages that near to the bridge, the project will have the necessary light stands for the new expansions.
The municipality is seeking from this critical project to solve the traffic jam problem in Wady Ade circulation and the related circulations. Specially, the traffic coming from El Amerate state and develop, enhance the traffic ability as the area having great amount of traffic as this is a connecting point of major roads that serve the full populated areas of Roy, El Hamreah, El Sad and also El Watya.
Safety and security
The project was made of two lanes each lane with different direction to enhance the capacity of the road and stream the traffic. This also aimed to raise the safety level of the road and working in all weather conditions away of wadi passage and weather conditions.
