Muscat Municipality close down 21 Food Facilities and issues 42 police report
Muscat Municipality closed (21) facilities between a restaurant and a coffee shop in Muscat as part of the inspection campaigns carried out by the municipality`s regulatory authority with (2052) visitation on health-related shops, restaurants and public cafes. these visits resulted in 42 violation police report including restaurants, cafes and shops selling meat, poultry, and stores for keeping foods due to lack of commitment to the application of sanitary requirements for each activity.
The inspection campaigns resulted in the destruction of 588 packages of food because of expiry.
Destroying vegetables
In the citrus market they destroyed 10150 kg of tomatoes because of mold and the bad smell indicates of molding. They also destroyed 1840 kg of apples and 25450 kg of potatoes because of sprout and wilting and internal blackening, they also destroyed 3538 kilograms of mangoes because of mold and supple.

Women`s beauty salons
In the same time, teams of specialized Women in the field of inspecting beauty salons made an intensify tours of inspection to (568) Beauty Salon in Muscat governorate, in order to monitor the centers and finding out to which extent they are committing to implement the health conditions in order to raise the level of health and providing worthy services for the consumer in terms of cleanliness and public health through the inspection of the shop and its facilities, and outreach workers of the most important health conditions that should be implemented and guidance to the proper methods for cleaning and disinfecting tools before and after use.
Through inspection tours they destroyed amount of expired cosmetics and creams that does not contain the dates of validity, it has been notified to the need to ensure that there is validity dates on packages. They also destroyed 89 pieces included some of women`s cosmetics because of the lack of validity dates on packages
Guidance for salons
Muscat Municipality urges all beauty salons to the need to comply with implementing of the requirements list of private health centers, hairdressing and beauty, and the commitment to maintain the cleanliness of the shop, tools and equipment used on an ongoing basis, and that all lotions and chemicals are used in conformity with the approved standards and contain dates of validity and expiry
Muscat Municipality also urges the owners of establishments to the need to adhere to the implementation of all health requirements and follow the health status of their facilities and refer to the municipal authorities in case of any queries, it also calls on consumers for the importance of communication with unified call center of the municipality on the phone (1111) in case of any complaints or observations whereas the duty of the municipal is to maintain the health and safety of these places goers
