Public affairs committee in the municipal council held its third and fourth meeting during this month. It discussed the housing of the single expats among the neighborhoods and the dangers and problems suffered by some states in the governorate as it was representing a problem for the citizens and residents in the city. Committee discussed the social and security harms under the random construction of the old districts for the housing of these expats among the neighborhoods and the environmental and health dimensions upon the community, the possibility of transmission, spread of diseases, dealing with behaviors that are incompatible with Omani values and traditions .
Also the committee discussed the exemption of the social security families from the fees of the municipal services, as the social security category is regarded among the categories that are granted special care by the government. And as a sign of interest, it exempted this category of the fees of some services provided by the country, in addition to the provision of several facilities and procedures in the different government agencies, including their exemption from the fees of Muscat municipality services for sanitation services.
Committee made recommendations that will be submitted to the municipal council in its sixth meeting for the first year to be held in the ninth of next June.
