Muscat Municipality continues the training of 1500 of its employees on "Information Technology Skills"

Muscat Municipality continues the conducting of the training program of "Cambidge Diploma in Information Technology Skills" in cooperation with Committee of Information Technology for 1500 employees from different municipality`s units and departments through various groups classified to two levels, beginners and advanced depending on placement tests, where training Agenda includes seven courses programs contains most of the information technology theoretical and practical skills during morning and evening, and the program is being implemented by the Arab Institute for administrative Training and who passes the training program obtains accredited international certification.

The program includes an introduction to information technology designed to identify the uses of computer and its benefits in several areas, as well as to understand the meaning of information technology and information society, and to identify the operating system and application software and programs life cycle, and reviewing many of the physical components that make up the computer, as well as peripherals surrounding it . Where the exam of this subject is held only on one level.

The second program focuses on the use of computer and managing files (Microsoft Windows), and this application has been designed to assist in the acquisition of skill and ability to use the basic functions of computer and operating system of Microsoft Windows 2010, in addition to the use of your desktop of operating system "Windows", and organizing files and folders, and how to use Windows applications, and managing printers, and use basic applications installed within Windows.

The third program contains word processing (Microsoft Word) where This application is designed to assist in the acquisition of skill and the ability to use word processor Microsoft Word 2010, and the use of basic skills to create, save and format and print documents such as letters, memos, simple reports, in addition to gain experience in using of basic desktop publishing features, such as graphics, tables, and mail merge.

The fourth program is a worksheets (Microsoft Excel), and has been designed to assist in the acquisition of skill and the ability to create, edit, format, calculate and print worksheets using an application called Microsoft Excel 2010, and taking advantages of worksheets and commands to create equations and using formatting options to display data clearly.

The fifth program focuses on electronic communications (Microsoft Internet Explorer), and This application is designed to assist in the acquisition of skill and the ability to learn how to search for information on the Internet and using e-mail to send messages, documents, and the sixth program contains the presentations (Microsoft Powerpoint), This application is designed to assist in the acquisition of skill and the ability to create, edit, and format and provide slides using the application of Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, in addition to learning how to create simple slides by formatting and templates, and the integration of text, clip art, graphics, and tables and effects. The exams for these programs will be held on two levels, beginners and advanced level except the first program.
