The specialists also, during (18- 22 August), visited food establishments and shops related to public health. The number of visitations reached (915) and resulted in closing (3) shops and executing (40) health violations as well as destroying food staffs that are unfit for human consumption which reached (56) Kg and (81) cans in addition to destroying (7) tools used in cooking. Moreover, (765) Kg of expired frozen sheep meat and (1600) Kg of unfit vegetables were destroyed at borders outlets in cooperation with competent authorities.
In context of full cooperation with control authorities in Sultanate and in accordance with the issued instructions of rejecting any foodstuffs that do not comply with approved specifications, (17) foodstuffs were monitored and controlled so as to follow up commercial shops to make sure of non-availability and to take measures necessary for each item..
Specialists in Central Citrus Market has observed the imports of vegetables and fruits. The number of visitations reached (1027) and resulted in executing four health violations and destroying (23383) Kg unfit for human consumption due to visual rot in addition to destroying (13) packets of eggs due to expiration of validity date.
