Eng. Sultan Bin Hamdoon Al Harthy, the President of Muscat Municipality assures that the project of 190 houses construction at Al-Hasan highlands in Yeti village which he supervised its execution in Muscat Municipality is going well and it is about to be completed. The construction of these houses is executed according to high-quality technical specifications under a project of construction of a comprehensive housing compound that includes infrastructure of roads, electricity and water provided that it shall be followed by execution of landscaping and lighting works and establishment of children playgrounds and connection of a sewerage network in the area according to the approach of government to complete development projects that serve the citizens.
The Omani architectural style is used in the design along with modern touches that comply with development of construction works in Sultanate. The housing unit consists of (4) bed rooms, bathroom and a common room along with a bathroom in addition to a hall, kitchen and an external common room with a total area of 220 square meters. The cost of project is (16,253,623) Omani riyals (six million, two hundred fifty three thousand six hundred and twenty three Omani riyals).
He added that the Municipality is about to construct a mosque, roadhouse and children playground to service citizens of this area provided that their construction will be completed within the following year.
These houses were constructed at Yeti Village (Al-Hasan highlands). The re-construction project of Yeti Village is considered as one of the development projects through which government will provide health houses necessary for citizens through electing the suitable location. The construction of these houses will be in safe areas and remote from streams of valleys and they will contain all necessary services.
It is worth mentioning that the project is a comprehensive project that will be executed by government for citizens of Yeti Village whose houses are adversely affected by valleys and floods. The competent authorities have chosen area of Al-Hasan highlands to be a safe highland from streams of valleys and to be near from housing and commercial areas.
Muscat Municipality has provided temporary houses ( caravans) to those whose houses are affected and it observed and maintained these houses. Muscat Municipality also has assigned competent companies to maintain temporary houses, to add some necessary facilities, and to assign their works to competent companies. Muscat Municipality pursues the permanent preparations to execute maintenance works and to replace houses that should be replaced till movement to new houses.
