Muscat Municipality implement "first aid for poisoning with pesticide" course for its employees

Today, Management of Planning and Training of Muscat Municipality, concludes "First aid for Pesticide Poisoning" course for the third group of Muscat Municipality employees working in the field of pest control and general cleanliness of the various units and departments of the Municipality Directorates at the Municipality building. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Salam Khamees, Specialist of Pest Control, Department of Health, lectures in the course along with Mr. Abdulaziz Al Busaidi, head of pest control of Bucher Municipality, and Mrs. Ahlam Al-Khroseea, health inspector professor, where the duration of the program is 25 theoretical and practical hours for five days.
The program aims to provide the participants with the technical information and scientific expertise in the management of situations when exposing to incidents during pest control in order to avoid, minimize or prevent risks that may arise during pest control operations.
The session also enables participants to apply pesticides with confidence and safety to humans and the environment, as well as dealing with cases of exposure to the risk of pests. The course also emphasis on the importance of adopting legislation and international recommendations for the protection of workers and the workplace, with the practice of Applied models and scientific experiments.
The course includes the origins and development of the science of toxicity, the anatomy of the human body, the movement of pesticides and derivatives from the mother to the fetus and infant, degrees and types of toxins poisoning and how it works, poisoning paroxysm. The course also includes pesticides, clinical symptoms and treatment, the effect of harmful toxins Medical (Domestic) and the disposition of emergency cases, the impact of pesticides on the respiratory and nervous system, what needs to be learned about the scorpions, snakes and the bees bane and finally Ambulance bag components. The course also includes a workshop for first aid, videos view for aid cases of poisoning and standard protection for spraying workers.
