Out of the Muscat Municipality`s interest in its employees and practical staff in the Municipality, and provision of opportunities for refinement of abilities and acquisition of the necessary skills to reach quality and proficiency in the field of the Municipal Work area, the Department of Planning and Training in the Municipality organizes several intensive training programs during December. The programs include a course in the Specialized Certification of Office Management and Secretarial Work for more than three weeks. It is held at the headquarters of the Institute of Efficiency. It also involves a 4-day training workshop for the management of work teams, held in the training room, headed by Muscat Municipality.
Moreover, the Training Program includes a 4-day course to develop the skills of the coordinators of training, held in the Rotana Hotel, as well as a 5-day workshop for Integrated Skills in public relations, ceremonies and protocols. It is held in Safeer Continental Hotel. It also includes a 4-day Committee Workshop, held in Safeer Continental Hotel, and course to review architectural designs, construction and construction codes, in addition to issuance of building permits. It is held at Oman Society of Engineers for five days, a course in the planning, scheduling, monitoring and documenting maintenance work, in the Holiday Hotel for five days, and a course in afforestation planning management in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in the Hall of knowledge in Ramis for five days. Furthermore, this extensive programme, organized by the Municipality for its employees, involves workshops, courses and other training activities, including archiving, storing documents electronically, design of electronic forms and methods of tabulation of data, in addition to the skills of food processing, a course for the rehabilitation of Omani butchers, and basics of the design of agricultural design, the design of networks of irrigation systems, the certificate of approved health inspector, basics of meeting minutes, quality control in the implementation of road works, and a diploma in the development of management, supervision and leadership skills.
This extensive program of training reflects a strategy of development and modernization, followed by the Muscat Municipality in all aspects of its sectors to promote the Municipal Work.
