Muscat Municipality Public Affairs Committee Holds Discussions on Al-Ansab Water Problem and Site of Water Treatment Plant
The Public Affairs Committee of Muscat Municipal Council held yesterday morning its second meeting of the second year, first period. The meeting was presided by Mr. Malik bin Hilal bin Hamoud Al-Ahamdi, the Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of the Committee members. The meeting discussed the problem of groundwater which appeared in Al-Ansab region in the presence of citizens whose houses have been damaged because of this water in order to examine all aspects of the problem and end up with solutions through coordinating with the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, Ministry of Housing, Public Authority for Electricity and water and Muscat Municipality. .
The meeting also discussed the issue of selecting a site for setting up a new water treatment plant in Bosher state, Musqat, to enhance the efficiency of the current plants.The new plant is to meet all sanitary and environmental requirements in accordance with the laws and regulations in this regard, and specialists from Haya Water Company will be present. .
During the meeting, rlevant governmental authorities as well as citizens voiced their points of view, and the Comittee will make the appropriate recommendations concerning the two issues tackled during the meeting.
