Campaign to combat tick animals in Muscat areas
Ahmed bin Salam Hadrami, head of pest control at the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Great Muttrah, assured that the municipality carried out an intensive campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Agreculture and wealth to combat fleas and ticks animals targeting areas in Muscat ( Sifah , Sifah Al-Sheikh, Al Khairan, Yankut, Wety) according to the statement of reports about the presence of these insects in cattle and sheep in these areas. Immediatly, teams work, in collaboration with the competent authorities, undertook the implementation of this campaign, which was launched earlier this week and will continue for one month .
Ahmed Hadrami pointed out that two teams from the Department of Pest Control in the Great Muttrah were formed to execute this job in addition to a team that has been formed from the department of awarness and guidance in Directorate to educate citizens and those who are interested in raising livestock .
The campaign program will include the implementation of a number of awareness and guidance lectures in order to educate citizens and those who are interested in raising animals on how to deal with insects and pests that infect animals and transmit diseases and the methods of reporting it to the competent authorities .
The Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Great Muttrah implementing intensive awareness programs to the housewives, parents, targeting school students for awareness tours in the residential neighborhoods, distributing pamphlets and scientific publications about the health methods of general hygiene, personal hygiene, home and neighborhood cleanliness and preserve the resources and facilities .
