Today .. Muscat Municipality Launches a Package of Electronic Services

His Excellency Eng. Mohsen bin Mohammed Al- Sheikh, the Chairman of Muscat Municipality, inaugurates at ten 10:30 this morning a package of new electronic services on the main stage of COMEX Exhibition 2014. This package includes the service of transactions through the electronic certification, leases service, municipal licenses services, employment services, electronic printing services, and suppliers registration service. These packages go in the same vein with the keenness of the Municipality on applying the national strategy plan that aims at a digital transformation in various dealings and services provided to the public.
The pavilion of Muscat Municipality witnesses large presence and interaction from the visitors to COMEX Exhibition on its first day as the Municipality reviews a variety of packages of electronic services designed to facilitate the procedures and save time, cost and effort of various segments of beneficiaries and those dealing with municipal services.
This participation starts, setting out many goals for the provision of services electronically in various areas of service work, taking advantage of enabling electronic linkage between government institutions, and promoting electronic technologies and projects.
The participation of Muscat Municipality this year marks the presence of three sectors represented in the electronic services of Muscat Municipality, GIS services, and services of Muscat Call Center ( 1111 ). The pavilion of Muscat Municipality is located on an area of 27 square meters and is provided with technical and technological supplies that help highlight the participation with the availability of a specialized staff within the services of the participating sectors.
The electronic service sector undertakes publicalizing the most prominent electronic services in Muscat Municipality, most importantly the following ones: Website services, smart phones application services, e-building permits, electronic parking reservation services, services of inquiry about the status of transactions, and identifying the most prominent awards won by Muscat Municipality within a series of awards reaped in the digital domain. .
Muscat Call Center (1111) publicly reviews its role and efforts in providing services to the beneficiaries via the developed designated channels of communication, notably: Web pages, chat rooms, e-mail, fax mail and voice mail. reviewing the advantages that the Center introduces to the public and illustrating statistics of the incoming reports, as well as the future plans and visions of the Center.
As for the field of geographic information systems, the most prominent projects of Muscat Municipality in the field of geographic applications are highlighted, most notably the interactive map of Muscat Governorate, Muscat Explorer, buildings program, and other details that are the focus of attention of authorities, relevant institutions, and visitors to the exhibition.
The participation of the municipality is mainly concerned with public awareness as it includes a variety of activities, most importantly the electronic interactive competition on the website of the Muscat Municipality www.mm.gov.omThe competition consists of some questions identifying the services of Muscat Municiplaity. A daily drawing will be made on the main stage by the end of each day.
Holding two workshops, the first of which provides identifications of the services of the website for GIS. The second workshop provides identifications of Muscat Call Center (111).
The awareness aspect includes publishing two questionnaires: one for measuring the public satisfaction with the electronic services of Muscat Municipality and the other for the assessing the services of Muscat Call Center in order to improve and develop the services in the future. COMEX Exhibition will make a drawing for valuable gifts for those participating in the two questionnaires on the last day..
Muscat Municipality is keen on participating in this annual event in an effort to publicize its electronic system, exchange experiences with other institutions and to take advantage of the digital experiences in light of the rapid electronical development.
