Muscat Municipality Launches Muscat Program, "Management of Professional Projects", In cooperation with the Arab Forum of IT and with participation of 49 engineers and professionals from different governmental authorities.
Yesterday morning, Muscat Program, "Management of Professional Projects" has been launched. The program is being managed by Muscat Municipality in cooperation with the Arab Forum of Information Technology of the Arab Towns Organization under the patronage of Khaled bin Mohammed Bahram, the assistant of Muscat Municipality president for services affairs with the existence of Dr Yosouf Abdullah Al qabalan, the vice secretary of Greater Amman Municipality in Jordan as the Forum president, a number of professionals and officials in the hall of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.
The Program started by a speech delivered by Dr Yosouf Abdullah Al qabalan, the vice secretary of Greater Amman Municipality in Jordan and the Forum president in which he referred to the deep relations and the common interests between Jordan and Oman. He also praised the role that Muscat Municipality plays in the services sector and developing the human cadres in cooperation with the Arab Forum of IT. Moreover, He extended the greetings of Greater Amman Municipality to all the officials, and the people of Oman and Muscat Governorate.
The general supervisor of planning and training in Muscat Municipality, Gom`aa Bin Salim Al-shekeily, in his speech about the municipality, referred to the importance of executing this program in support of the municipal work in line with the scientific systems, technologies, and the innovations. He also referred to the prominent and leading role of the Professional Projects in serving the city population to develop modern environments with modern cities fundamentals. Gom`aa Al-shekeily also expressed his gratitude to organizers of the event that comprises 49 participants In the field of engineering and IT from the Royal Court Affairs, Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Regional Municipalities, and Dhofar Municipality.
The engineer Gameel Al O`mla, the EO, referred to the IT Arab forum in a speech delivered by him through the inauguration regarding the effective and leading role that the Sultanate play in the common Arabic field and its effective attendance in the activities and programs of the Arab Towns Organization besides being the effective member of trustee board of the IT Arab forum that consists of heads and leaders of ten Arab municipalities
He added : The arrangement of the training program in cooperation with Muscat Municipality is a result of cooperation between institutions and Arab Municipalities to give chance to the participants who represent a number of Municipalities and Omani cities to develop and enhance the leading and managerial skills of topics and practical operations till the participant become a leader confident in his capabilities. ,able to overcome the difficulties, achieve the goals and requirements of the work, and qualified to manage the others in an efficient way to achieve the mission of the institution the he belongs to.
The ceremony included a visual show of the IT Arab Forum targets and achievements, and the show pointed that 18 countries get use of the forum activities and 1020 cities participated besides 3050 participant.
The program axis, presented by Monier Al Sabagh, the consultant in the strategic planning field of the program launched and includes the following topics: Project management, clarifications, phases of its development and life cycle, requirements of integrating the projects and managing the range, boundaries of the project and managing the time and costs of the project. The program addresses other points such as: The project quality, human resources, communication management, the project, risk management and the supply management in the project.
The trainer and engineer Monier Al Sabagh indicated that the projects are the ground of the communities grow and development, and that obstacles and the project difficulties negatively affect most people life directly, so it becomes very important to set guidelines to carry out the projects in a practical method. enabling managers of carrying out projects through quality criteria, cost and framework etc. and enabling the participants of managing their projects according to international bases not the local only and getting benefit of projects and the successful global experiments. We aim, through this workshop, to create a specific culture by managing professional projects and it its applications.
The training program, that continues till the 18th of the current month, aims to the providing the participants with knowledge, scientific elements in managing professional projects, exchanging experiences, training to deal with the difficult cases in managing projects and finding a solution to it and gaining the new methodology in the field of software and IT that serves the municipality sector.
