The draft of "Muscat Airport Taxi Contract and a list of Penalties
The Legal Committee of Municipal Council of Governorate of Muscat held its fourth meeting of the second year for the first time under the chairmanship of Al Shaimaa bint Ali bin Ibrahim Al Raisiah, in the presence of members of the Committee, and representatives of Oman Airports Management Company and Muscat Municipality. The meeting reviewed a draft of the proposed contract concluded between Oman Airports Management Company and the taxi drivers in Muscat Airport, and a draft of the proposed list of penalties against violating airport taxi drivers.
The Committee`s reviewed the two suggested regulations upon request of Oman Airports Management Company submitted to the Municipal Council of the Governorate of Muscat in order to find a regulating mechanism to the work of airport taxi drivers that the faces many issues in the work of the owners of airport taxis, which calls for paying attention to the importance of ensuring performance of their work properly and in regulated manner.
After listening to the opinions of the committee members, the Committee issue its recommendations based on the importance of seeking the opinion of the Ministry of Manpower in this regard, and activation the Local Order No. (1/2012) on regulating work of taxis in Muscat International Airport.
