Tomorrow .. Muscat Festival starts with artistic taste and global participations
The events of the 15th session of Muscat Festival start off tomorrow, Thursday, under the slogan "Oman fascinates". The Festival presents a variety of events and activities that target different segments of the society throughout a month until February 14th and witnesses participations from Arab and international countries that are going to introduce various programs and shows in the various event sites such as Al-Naseem Public Park, Al-Amerat Public Park, Al-Hail Beach, Oman Automobile Club, City Theater, Cultural Club as well as a number of locations which host the Muscat events.
Diversity and Fascination
This year, Muscat Festival holds several events that commensurate with the interests of the various categories of the society such as: the Snowy Village, Interactive Village, Dinosaurs Village, Maritime Festival, fashion shows, car shows and sports activities and competitions. The festival also introduces international plays for kids to be held at the City Theater, along with the Heritage Village, Family Village, firework shows, Oman bicycle race at its sixth session, in addition to concerts given by an elite group of Omani artists and global theatrical performances for children as well as electric games, commercial exhibition and entertainment shows.
Theatres and arenas of Al-Naseem and Al-Aemrat parks will also witness a variety of activities such as the shows of aerobatics, cartoon characters, flames, swing and death wardrobe. Al-Amerat Park will host the participations of governmental administrations as there are sites designated for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Center for Statistics and Information and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and the General Prosecution and the Ministry of Tourism in addition to the pavilions of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Culture and Thought
The Festival attracts at its next session an elite of prominent Omani and Arab thinkers, intellectuals and writers. The cultural events will vary to include poetry night gatherings, intellectual lectures, shows of art performed directly for the audience and exhibitions such as the exhibitions of Omani Documents Exhibition, Astrology Exhibition, Innovators Exhibition, Future Projects Exhibition, Photo Gallery and Sculptors Forum. In addition, there will be specialized exhibitions such as the mobile exhibition which is organized by the of Scientific Research Center and Omani Innovators Exhibition and International Exhibition for Crafts and Traditional Arts, exhibition of small and medium-sized enterprises, Carpet Exhibition and Gold Exhibition, Exhibition of Industrial Products and Consumer Exhibition.
Promotion and Advertisement
The Broadcast of the promotional advertising for Muscat Festival via radio local and international television stations began with the launch of 470 advertising materials intended for the outside promotion of Muscat Festival through various public media that broadcast the advertisements during the Festival. The most prominent satellite stations broadcasting the advertising material are JSC, CNN Arabic, BBC Middle East, Al-Sharq TV, In addition to the Omani TV Channels. Besides, the radio advertisement is broadcast via a number of local and Arab radio stations such as the Radio of the Sultanate of Oman, Youth Radio program, Wesal Radio, Dubai 92 FM, Emirates Hala FM, and Voice of the Gulf.
The Festival`s promo is posted on a number of websites such Muscat Festival and Omani bicycle race`s websites and on the social networks: Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Moreover, ads in different sizes will be published in the Omani local daily newspapers issued in Arabic and English and in all newspapers and supplements, either weekly or monthly. The advertisement will be published in a number of Arab and Gulf newspapers such as Asharq Al-Awsat, Emirati newspapers - Al-Khaleej, Al-Etihad and the English-language newspaper Gulf Times - and Akhbar Al-Khaleej, in addition to advertising in major international airlines such as Air France, British Airways, Oman Air, Qatar Airways and Fly Emirates.
The Festival is promoted on billboards in the main streets of Muscat, on facades and vital locations in the other states and at a designated office of the Ministry of Tourism to promote the Festival at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Dubai Airport.
Sponsorship of 42 Foundations
This year, the Festival this year is sponsored by 42 Foundations and companies in exchange for promotional benefits according to classification set for each. Some of the sponsoring foundations are governmental and others are private. The major sponsoring foundations are the Ministry of Tourism, Oman Tel, Bank Muscat. Golden sponsors are: Oman Air Suhail Bahwan Group, MHD Foundation, Saud Bahwan Group, Oman Arab Bank and Bank Dhofar. The Silver sponsors are: Ooredoo Telecommunications, National Bank of Oman and City Centre. The bronze sponsors are Lulu Centre and Muscat Grand Mall. Improvement works are manifested clearly in the festival sites this year. These works include the installation of the various types of decorations in the passages of gardens and in the corridors of sites, the establishment of pavilions for local and international participants, the completion of maintenance of facilities, theaters, shops, art, and commercial exhibitions, traditional markets and restaurants, in addition to providing equipment for acrobatic performances theaters and artistic cultural activities, and other varied events.
