Public affairs of Muscat Municipality reviews
a proposal for the real estate fee-evasion
The Public Affairs Committee held its first meeting in the first period of the third year under the presidency of Malik bin Hilal Al-Yahmadi in the presence of the Committee members and representatives of Muscat Municipality. A proposal concerning the evasion of the real estate taxes was reviewed.
The Committee reviewed the proposed solution to the evasion of the real estate fees and the consequences of registering leases of residential and commercial buildings at the Municipality at low prices in order to avoid payment of fees due for the municipality. The General Directorate for Administrative and Financial Affairs at Muscat Municipality has provided a number of solutions to prevent evasion of the fees due for the Municipality.
After listening to the viewpoints of the members and participants who took part in the meeting, the Committee gave recommendations to entrust the concerned authorities in Muscat Municipality with providing all the necessary information about the violations registered concerning the evasion real estate fees in order to take the appropriate decision in this respect.
