Muscat municipality declared that it`s prepared and ready to deal with weather storms that will hit the Sultanate these days and his highness eng. Muhsen ben Mohamed Al Sheikh - head of Muscat municipality yesterday morning issued an administrative decision no (107/2015) to establish operation rooms to keep track of climatic conditions and manage its effect on Muscat governrate. on Tuesday, the day before yesterday, he also declared a circular no. (12/2015) about taking all the necessary precautions and preparations to minimize the damages that can be caused by the rains andd the flow of water on citizens, residents, public and private properties.and a municipality spokesman has been assigned to speak to the media about the efforts and roles of the municipality towards these weather storms
He and a number of officials made some field studies to the draining canals of rain waters around Al Nahda hospital, Wady Aady area and visited a number of areas to check workflow and take necessary precautions.
teams have been assembled in all general authorities and following units to take all the necessary precautions and measures to closely keep up with the situation and deal with all the notes that reaches them in time of the storm to assure the continuous flow of service to citizents around the clock. and the teams have shown compitence to meet all the emergencies. also it`s been coordinated with all units of municipality and the call center of Muscat (1111) to gain ligitimate data about the weather and receive reports and back-up demands to be able to instantly react to the notews received in the center.
and there are protective measures planned for the municipality to deal with the expected weather condition in harmony with the efforts of the national civil defense committee. in addition to following up with the climate state and its development to compile central data base that the municipality can use to know the level of damages that can affect Muscat governrate with expected rain in a way that would include the municipal technical, human, financial, informational and civil resources that`d supply sub-municipal services authorities with their actual needs of resources.
the team also maintains effective communication with all governmental units relevant to guaranteeing a flow of accurate and constantly updated date. bearing in mind to coordinate with the relevant authorities related to the climate conditions and completely cooperate with it. .
