Feasibility study about the suitable means of transportation and the overall re innovation of Muttrah.
As part of the rehabilitation and infrastructural design consultancy services project, a long meeting has been held with representatives of specialty of different authorities, Oman Royal Police, national civil defense department and ambulance along with the attendance of representatives from the municipality of Muscat, Hayah water company and the project consultant (Searing International).
During the meeting a visual display of the rehabilitation of Muttrah and infrastructural design consultancy services project through which the municipality of Muscat is aiming to set up an integrated plan for the re innovation of Muttrah to increase the quality of life of its residence and maintaining its historical and cultural identity, preparing Muttrah to be a touristic destination in The sultanate of Oman and raise it`s level of income in Muttrah and its contribution to the national income. During the meeting, the current situation has been displayed along with the challenges facing Oman Royal Police department to raise the level of services provided to residents to be considered in the implementation of the project.   
One of the main challenges facing the Oman Royal Police department, the national security department and ambulance in the area is the geographic nature and the high population density of the area, the narrowness of roads and passages which can cause inconsistency of services being provided with the safety and security standards and complicates the task of policemen performing their duties. Executives of this project are aiming to provide space to expand the current roads and build new ones to solve the traffic jam problem which would make it easy on the national security department and the ambulance to serve the residents of the area in a better way. Also the project aims to provide enough spaces as well as the proportionate distribution of water service points used for extinguishing fires and and identifying areas of mass population points in case of a fire... god forbid.  
 
Also, the attendance discussed providing the area with optical fibers which would facilitate the security surveillance of the area using cameras and also managing the entry and exit of trucks and specify places for loading and offloading them as well as organizing the warehouses located near the market and coordinate the bachelor`s housing operation. Also there was a suggestion about building a facility that would operate as a single station that coordinates the flow of tourism in the market and includes representative of Omani Royal Police, Municipality of Muscat and the Ministry of Tourism.  
In order to come up with a specific pattern to the use of lands and buildings and to select the best locations for different activities, the rehabilitation and infrastructural design consultancy services project will include a number of feasibility study, to gather a lot of information, analyze it and understand the relations between all the different elements of the area and the community surrounding it and relate to that in the rehabilitation plan. One of the studies conducted by the project`s consultant (searing international) is a study related to means of transportation and it includes:  roads, marine paths, means of light and mass transportation, parking lots for vehicles and lighting and many other requirements in the area of transportation.
