Muscat municipality implements a comprehensive cleaning campaign in Ghala industrial area
Today, Sunday, the comprehensive cleaning campaign is launched by general Muscat municipality in Bushar which aims to clean Ghala industrial area and its surroundings as part of a time frame set for 3 months that coveres all health, technical and aesthetic aspects of this important area that is jammed with industrial facilites, trade zones, facilities and new buildings.
an inspection team is assembled to continue inspecting and following-up with the area lead by Hamid ben Salem Al Harthy the manager of health and environment affairs, and a number of members from different technical, legal and transportation administrations in the office. The team will make sure that companies and foundations working in Ghala area abide by health and safety standards in their facilities. The team wil also make sure that they apply the technical, health and managerial conditions followed in the area and confirm their consistency with what`s actually happening based on the licenses and dates of these licenses. The team will file all the vilations in all technical and health devisions and follow up with correcting them accoring to the system applied in the area and write periodical reports about what has been accomplished.
Hameed ben Salem El Harthy, Assistant manager of health and environment affairs division, mentioned that a meeting was held with the team to coordinate work and set roles on expertise, equipments, dynamics and staff. The team was ready to start the field work starting that day. The campaign aims to increase the aesthetic value of the city and the services provided to the public. It also aims to save the environment, remove garbage and get rid of anything that can affect the aesthetic value of the city including solid garbage, old cars and their parts, replace old traffic signs with new ones, maintain roads and street lights, repaint fronts of buildings and many other municipal services.
