The Public affairs of Muscat Municipality reviews setting up umbrellas outside homes limits
The Public Affairs Committee of Municipal Council of Muscat Governorate held its ninth meeting, chaired by Malik bin Hilal bin Hamoud Al-Yahmadi. The Committee discussed a number of issues during the meeting, the most important is organizing the set up of umbrellas outside homes limits, it reviewed the administrative decision No (70/2015) on this matter, pointed to a number of notes about some provisions by the concerned departments representing in the remarks of space, the number of housing units, as well as the streets classification in more specific and clear forms for easy interpretation by the stakeholders.
Also, the committee discussed the proposal for reserving situations outside the commercial buildings limits, setting up umbrellas over it, and emphasized the importance of setting united frameworks, models and requirements of this process. Reserving public situations to certain agencies is subject to a mechanism regarding to Muscat Municipality, while there is no unified organization to set up umbrellas on those reserved situations. On the other hand, the Committee recommended approving the proposal of adding mental skill development activity for children to the authorized activities in the middle of residential neighborhoods, because of their privacy and interest affecting the child and attendees of these centers. As well as the committee reviewed re-setting its proposals about nominating the mountain street (Al-Amerate - Bowshar).
