Mohsen Al-Sheikh welcomes the Municipal Council

The Municipal Council delegation of the Turkish city (Ankara) under the chairmanship of Ali Ihsan Olmez, the Municipal Council Chairman of Ankara arrived Oman on an official visit to Muscat Governorate for five days. The delegation accepted the invitation of Engineer Mohsen bin Mohammad Al-Sheikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality and the Municipal Council of Muscat Governorate, with a view to exchange expertise; inform experiences, development projects and common topics that related to the municipal work affairs. A luncheon ceremony was held in the honor of guests in the presence of the Turkish Embassy representative in the Sultanate and senior Municipal staff.
The delegation members visited the Royal Opera House Muscat and recognized the contents of the house, its activities, programs and arts. Also, the Turkish delegation visited Muscat Festival events 2016 in Al-Naseem Park and Al-Amerat Park.
Yesterday morning, an official talk`s session between the Municipal Council delegation of Ankara and the Municipal Council of Muscat Governorate was held to provide a visual presentation about Muscat, followed by another presentation about the experience of Municipal Council of Muscat Governorate, its structure, tasks and specialties, as well as the bilateral relations between Muscat and Ankara by discussing the municipal affairs and the mutual cooperation that serves both countries.
The meeting reviewed a number of projects and services offered by Muscat Municipality, Municipal Council efforts, studying the services status in the city. HE the guest and the accompanied praised the good relations that gathers the two countries and the development of Muscat in the era of the Omani renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may Allah protect him, expressed their happiness and impression with the modern facilities, traditional markets, modern roads and buildings, the care of heritage and urban identity of the city and the urban planning that combines both tradition and modernity. They also praised the applied solutions for facing the challenges in a number of sectors and service areas.
Wednesday morning, The Turkish delegation will provide a visual presentation about Ankara Municipality experience in various areas of municipal work. The delegation program includes: visiting Al Mouj Muscat project, Oman Wastewater Services Company (Haya Water), Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (beah), Muttrah market, the National Museum, taking a tour throughout Muscat Governorate and viewing the most important cultural monuments.
