Hygiene Campaign in Sifah beaches
The General Directorate and the Outreach and Guidance Office of Muscat Municipality of Greater Muttrah have implemented a hygiene and outreach campaign in Sifah beaches. A number of volunteers of the Omani Women`s Association in Sidab branch have participated in the campaign, in order to spread the environmental culture among people and develop the sense of responsibility for maintaining the environment around them and its importance, which is considered an outlet for families to spend quiet times in a clean, healthy and decent environment.
The volunteer`s team has cleaned the beach by removing solid waste removal and distortions, also it transfer the volunteers aspirations which reflects the desires of people by providing the beach with all services and some basic facilities such as Public bathrooms and integrated rest , in order to serve the visitors and make it a favorite tourist destination.
The campaign is a part of the annual Outreach Office programs with a view to involve the local community in the municipal work, enhance the environmental awareness for the citizens and visitors , and raise the awareness level for individuals with the concept of maintaining environment and its importance.
