Information and Awareness Office of Muscat Municipality in Seeb performs varied outreach programs and activities varied to raise the level of community awareness

In the context of Muscat Municipality`s efforts aimed to raise awareness of correct environmental practices efforts and promote communal responsibility towards the environment, Information and awareness Office of the Directorate-General of Muscat Municipality in Seeb organized (23) outreach events during the second quarter of this year in order to complement the program`s annual plan, which included pilot visits to monitor and detect the environmental negative phenomena in addition to implement a number of campaigns, lectures, exhibitions and leisure activities jointly with the state` people and school students.

The Awareness programs provides outreach lectures coinciding with World Food Day, presented by specialists from Health Affairs Department of the Directorate to inform the state` people the municipal services offered to serve individuals and society, and to emphasize the importance of positive collaboration with the municipality in order to achieve communal partnership.
Information and Awareness Office also gave a lecture on the methods of food preservation for the people in Al-khawd Center in coordination with the Department of Health Services in the state. The lecture defined the proper and healthy methods to preserve food from damage. In the context of spreading health awareness among schools students and the state`s population, it was implemented a campaign called "Our Lives are Values" in coordination with Inspection and Food Control Department of Directorate, as well cleanliness campaign jointly with Qurum Business Group for projects and maintenance in order to clean Seeb Beach area from distorted and solid wastes.
From the keenness of Information and Awareness Office to detect the negative phenomena in society and look for successful solutions to address them; the specialists of the office implemented nine field visits to monitor the negative phenomena at many sites of the state, including the phenomenon of throwing wastes out of garbage cans, the spread of unrestrained dogs, animals, construction wastes and others.
