Reflecting common interest in city issues
Muscat Municipality participates in the international conference on urban dominance and traditional fabric of the Sultanate of Oman.

Muscat Municipality participated in the international conference on urban dominance and traditional fabric of the Sultanate of Oman, which ended yesterday (Tuesday) in the conference hall at the Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Hanan bint Amer Al Jabriyya, a specialized in the architectural studies at Muscat municipality chairman office, presented a paper entitled "The impact of urban dominance on the traditional urban spaces in Mutrah".
Dr. Hanan`s study reviewed the possible impact of internal migration on the population of Mutrah as a case study, and its implications on public squares in the market. The urban dominance has been growing significantly in Mutrah which motivated specialists to study the phenomena.
The international conference on urban dominance and traditional fabric of the Sultanate of Oman aimed at exploring the future of the traditional urban fabric in Oman and sustainability in the light of the variables of urban dominance.
