Muscat municipality holds a joint meeting with the national authority for documents and archives

In an attempt to follow up on the project for preparing a private document management system, His Excellency Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Head of Muscat Municipality met H.E Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed al-Dawyani, chairman of the National Documents and Archives authority, as part of the Commission`s orientation towards the establishment of a modern document and archival management system.
The first meeting covered the features of the documents and archives law promulgated by the Royal Decree No. 60/2007, in addition to the stages of preparing the document management system project for Muscat municipality.
The second presentation included an explanation of the document and electronic document management systems, which were being implemented by the National Documents and Archives Authority in a number of government agencies, in addition to the technical and technical specifications that electronic document and document management systems must contain in a manner mechanism.
It should be noted that Muscat municipality is working on this trend and has set up a task force to follow up and implement the standardized document classification project, with a view to developing a classification system documents for the municipal divisions in order to facilitate access to and secure the document to ensure quality performance and to deal with archives in general.
