Muscat Municipality in Bousher destroys 2016 cans of soft drinks stored in unhealthy conditions
In cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, the Food Inspection team at Muscat Municipality has conducted a raid on a residential house in southern of Khuwair area, after following a report on the exploitation of that residential house as a place to store foodstuff and to carry out commercial activities without municipality permit. The foodstuff have been stored in unhealthy conditions and in commercial quantities. The team has destroyed about 2016 cans of soft drinks and bottled drinking water. Then, Legal measures were taken in accordance with the provisions of administrative decision 55/2017 regarding violations of the Muscat Municipality Law.
The Municipality of Muscat emphasizes its efforts in monitoring all commercial activities related to public health, ensuring compliance with municipal laws, and the health requirements set out in the Local Order for the Protection of Public Health (1/2006). It also calls consumers to report any similar observations by contacting the Muscat Telecommunications Center (1111), or through the Municipality`s pages on social networking sites or through Baladiyati App on smartphones.
