Muscat Municipality in Al-Aamerat organizes a lecture on inspection and food control

     The inspection and Food Control Department of the General Directorate of Muscat Municipality in Al-Aamerat  carried out on (Tuesday) a lecture for some school students in the state on the food safety, potential pollution risks, and the monitoring and inspection role of Muscat municipality to ensure that public health regulations and requirements are followed regualrly.
           The lecture aimed to introduce the students with the potential risks in handling processed foods outside homes and the possibility of having some contamination by a number of external factors and their negative affect on human health. The lecture has also explained other topics such as the importance of food to the individual, the role of individuals in differentiating between healthy food and contaminated one, how to conserve food of all kinds in suitable temperatures, and the risk factors which lead to food contamination.

            The lecture has also included a corner organized to educate school students about healthy eating habits. At the end, leaflets were distributed to the students showing the role taken by the municipality in monitoring food health requirements and awareness-rising campaigns as well as the role of the individual as a participant in such campaigns.

It is worth mentioning that this move was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the office the Wally, as part of the joint efforts to involving the community in health education and to introduce the municipal works in public health and Food Safety.
