In cooperation with the Royal Oman Police Muscat municipality fines some individuals for abusing public facilities

To promote positive values and public awareness in dealing with public utilities, the team in charge of inspecting negative phenomenon of tampering with public utilities has carried out multiple visits to vital sites and parks in the state, including the Al-Buhairah Park in Al-Gubrah and Al-Uthaibah Beach Park. The visits have resulted in the seizure of a number of people  grilling and  in the green surfaces, resulting in the burns and destruction. Furthermore, some groups engaged in tampering  with public facilities and others throwing trash in non-allocated areas have been seized. Advice was also given to groups in order to achieve the values of Community in harmony with the efforts and services provided by the municipality of Muscat.

The monitoring and control team carried out its work by seizing a number of violators and taking legal action against them based on administrative Decision No. 55/2017 on administrative sanctions for Muscat municipality irregularities and local order No. (32) for the protection of public utilities of Muscat municipality.

The group was formed by the General Directorate of Muscat Municipality, in cooperation with members of the Municipal committee and the Royal Oman Police, where the panel is chaired by: Malik Bin Hilal is a member of the municipal council in Muscat governorate, advising and opinion.

The group will continue to work continuously and intensively to control these negative phenomena, which the municipality suffers from.

In the same framework, Muscat municipality calls upon all citizens and residents to commit themselves to the maintenance of public utilities and to the restriction of regulations and controls; as these values and facilities surve the public interest.
