Muscat Municipality implements Phase V maintenance project of bridges
Muscat municipality-represented in the General Directorate of Projects- is implementing during the current period a number of roads and bridges maintenance in Muscat Governorate (Phase V). This step complements the previous four phases, during which a total of 26 bridges were maintained according to a specific phased and scheduled program.
The municipality has ensured that the maintenance of the bridges at this stage is carried out according to the priorities taken into account and according to the information system, which monitors, scans and re-evaluates the technical work of all the governorate bridges.
The Bridge maintenance project in Muscat Governorate (Phase V) has involved 24 bridges, notably the As`Sareen bridge and Wadi Adi. Maintenance work at this stage replaces the bridging links and the movement support parts between the bridge pillars, as well as the mainstays bridge, side walls, concrete beams and asphalt-affected bridges.
On the other hand, Muscat municipality has been keen to carry out preventive maintenance work, such as the installation of rainwater drainage pipes and the coating of bridges with the protection of water and salts. This would bring about a smooth traffic and maintain the strength and durability of these vital installations and increase their lifespan.
It is noteworthy that this project comes from a service project package that the municipality of Muscat is keen to implement within its framework to achieve a sustainable development plan for strategic road and bridge projects in Muscat Governorate, which contributes to the overall enhancement of traffic efficiency.
