Muscat Municipality has concluded the training program on media handling skills (spokesperson), which was held for two days at Al-Wahat club, presented by the AlJazeera Journalist & Trainer Mr. Mohamed Krishan.
The program aimed to develop the competencies of the senior management leadership in dealing with the various media outlets, and to learn about the methods and the arts of communicating effectively and positively with the masses.

The program has also included a number of key aspects, including the clarification of media concepts and areas of media work, their roles and characteristics, and describes the nature of the best information message and how to communicate it to the public in a smooth and easy manner.
Participants were also introduced the various media arts of direct communication with the public, and ways to conduct media interviews and press releases for the media that require the expressive capacity of the body language to be enabled, In addition to their training to appear in front of the camera and to interact with the TV presenter.
The program also included a training on how to prepare for press conferences and the skills needed to talk, engage with the public and clarify the considerations to be avoided at these conferences. The training program has been characterized by its implementation of practical applications to deal with various media outlets, this has contributed to deepening the participants ` understanding of the basic rules of the media arts.

Finally, all participants who have demonstrated the extent to which they have benefited from the program have been honored to develop their skills by acquiring the appropriate performance skills to appear before the media.
About this program Mr. Adel bin Abdul Aziz, who is ssistant Director General, at the Directorate-General for Human Resources said: "Human elements are important elements in each institution, and the success of these elements is a success for the foundation, From this standpoint, our participation came with the aim of identifying the basics of dealing with media of all its kinds, and how to reach the level of the official spokesperson of the institution, He also benefited from the training program through the various aspects and the interesting manner in which the lecturer has spoken, which enriched the program with its practical and scientific expertise and looks forward to the application of what was included in its plans for the development of its career performance in Muscat municipality, where he has the ability to handle the media.

From another her side, Mrs. Najla bint Nasser Al-Rawahiyya, who is an assistant Director-General of Information technology emphasized; "Being responsible for the Directorate General,  it is important to learn the real skills to deal with the media, this will contribute to my participation in various media coverage and reach all segments of society in a way that reflects the meaning of community partnership "
"The workshop gave me enriching information about the statements and the press report of the media," she said.
Dr. Shawky Bin Abdulrahman Al Zadjali, an assistant Director-General of Health has shared his purpose of participating in the workshop; which is to develop his personal skills in the field of media interviews and professionalism in the presentation of press statements by the media, through the program you may learn about the correct scientific fundamentals about dealing with media and sharing experiences and practical applications with colleagues. He explained that the media must keep abreast of technological development in the face of the challenges we are currently facing and the inefficiency of traditional media, where newspapers have rarely been followed up.

The big part of the follow-up was occupied by the electronic side, " "This is his first participation in the media," said Issa Bin Saeed al-Fouri, Director of Municipal facilities administration. He has been identified with innovative ways and means of dealing with media and he also hopes he will be able to apply these methods at work.

It is worth to mention that this program is organized within the framework of the municipality`s eagerness to activate the role of the media as a mirror of the society reflecting the most important issues of public interest, and to employ the scientific foundations and rules to deal with different means of media, and to use optimum ways to communicate the message of the municipal business to the public professionally.
