In an attempt to enhance cooperation in various cases, His Excellency engineer Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Head of Muscat Municipality, has received princess Dina Murid, chairman of the International Union Council for Cancer Control and a number of the Council`s representatives, where the visit was aimed at identifying aspects of joint cooperation between the Council and the municipality; under The preparatory efforts for the World Summit of Cancer leaders to be held in Muscat during the current year.   

During the visit, an explanation was presented on the importance of this Conference as it puts the Sultanate of Oman on the Joint International Action plan to combat and respond to cancer; The Sultanate is the first Arab and Gulf country to host this global event, and the visit of the Conference working Group to Muscat municipality is preparing for an integrated plan For planning, preparation and organization, in order to implement a programme shared by the institutions related to the theme of the Conference, as the Group discussed the participation of the municipality through the work awareness-raising programmes and the dissemination of a health culture of prevention and reduction of the spread of the disease through the roles and tasks of municipal work related to the organization of activities Related to the prevention of public health.  
Her Highness Princess Dina Murid has talked about the importance of the role played by Muscat municipality in neighbourhoods and street cleanliness and the giving green spaces and surfaces and a number of corridors for physical exercise; which enhances the existence of a healthy lifestyle that can help Responding to diseases in general, and noted that the Conference attracts stakeholders in the dissemination of awareness and culture that can be a partner in the success of the goals the Conference, including the municipality of Muscat, in the areas of raising awareness of the causes of cancer, the most important of which are Smoking, regulation, supervision and inspection of shops related to the location of Shisha activities; and the introduction of human health and environmental procedures.

Princess Dina Murid was elected as the first Arab President of the Council of the International Cancer Union ; In recognition of the efforts sha has made in the fight against the disease locally and internationally. The international Organization will preside over the period 2018 to 2020, to complete its career in the fight against cancer and to raise the level Health awareness around it in various communities, and the Federation, which comprises some 950 organizations from 155 countries, is one of the largest in the world, whose work is devoted to alleviating the international burden of cancer, and to incorporating the issue of cancer into global health and development.

The visit of the World Summit team of Cancer leaders included a number of representatives including the Omani Cancer Society and the Ministry of Health, the group`s visit to Muscat municipality is part of the visit programmed to familiarize itself with the conference venue and its facilities, in order to enhance cooperation Links between different actors and access to advance preparations in cooperation with those actors.
