Muscat Municipality Acquaint With Some European Cities Experience In Municipal Work

                  At the invitation of a number of European cities, His Excellency engineer Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, and his delegation from the "be`ah" and "Haya" companies continue their visits for service facilities and existing projects, and modern facilities in waste management and sanitation in some Swiss and Austrian cities, with a view to access to advanced experiences related to municipal work and waste management.

                   The delegation visited the wastewater Treatment project in the Austrian city of Vienna and how to benefit from it in the production of electrical power and heating of cities. The delegation has also looked at the way cooking oils are recycled, and the mechanism for exploiting it for the production of bio-fuel for vehicles.

                     The team was briefed about the Swiss experience of the Physical Planning centre and the Swiss experience in the management and recycling of waste, while watching models of the latest alternative energy and electric power compounds. The Omani delegation has provided a brief explanation of the Omani experience in waste management, and some future plans and projects that be`ah and Haya plans to implement in the Sultanate.

                 The visiting delegation has also watched a visual presentation about the city of Geneva, its projects and efforts in the area of service development and sustainability, hygiene, waste management and sanitation, environmental care and city development. ....

               Worth to mention that H.E chairman of Muscat Municipality is accompanied by the chief executive of the Omani sewage services company, "Haya", and the Vice-president executive of the municipal waste sector of the Omani holding company for Environmental Services ("be`ah"), and a number of municipal officials and members of the Board of Directors of be`ah company.
