Muscat municipality reviews "Art in public places" within the fifth annual interior design exhibition

Muscat municipality has participated in the fifth annual exhibition for interior design about the spatial environment and construction in the Sultanate of Oman, which was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, organized by the scientific college of design, and the participation of the Technical College and the University of Nizwa and the consulting firms, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said.
Dr. hanan bint Amer al ahmadi, assistant manager of Strategic Planning Department of the municipality of Muscat, has presented a working paper entitled public art "art in public places" reviewing the importance of the work of art in the urban environment and their role in giving an aesthetic identity to cities. She has also talked about the concept of public art, its types and its role in highlighting the history and culture of the community.
Dr. hanan has also explained the role played by the municipality in taking care of the art works such as the arches fountain at the Royal Opera House. She also gave another exaamples of an artistic identity of other international countires like the teddy lamp Bear famous at Hamad International Airport in Doha in Qatar, which is made by the famous Swiss sculptor Urs Fischer.
The world has many of these arts which have become a symbol of civilization such as the statue of liberty in the USD and the Eiffel Tower in France and the awakening tower in Oman.
It is worth mentioning that the fifth annual exhibition for the interior design aims to shed light on the latest techniques and materials used for interior design, decoration, furniture, and knowledge to meet the growing demand in this sector by combining all of the leading companies in the industry under one roof, and keep abreast of developments made in this sector. The exhibition has focused on many accessories related to building materials, carpets, interiors, floors, furniture, furnishings, interior design, lighting, and garden furniture.
