Muscat municipality seizes expatriate workers engaged in unlicensed commercial activity

Muscat municipality in Mutrah, represented in the market organization department and in coordination with the prosecution administration for Muscat municipality cases, the royal Oman police, and the ministry of manpower, seizes expatriate workers utilizing two exhausted houses in Jidan area in Mutrah for practicing sewing and tailoring of clothes without a municipal license.
Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Azani, head of the Market regulatory department, explained that the violators have been seized following the municipality team’s periodic field visits and through which the expats workers have been seen utilizing the exhausted house for practicing the unlicensed commercial activity.
Coordination with ROP and the ministry of manpower has been made and the workers have been seized this morning. Fabrics and sewing machines were also confiscated, and offenders were transferred to the public prosecution for the completion of the necessary legal proceedings.
The Directorate-General of Muscat Municipality in Grand Mutrah emphasizes that it will continue to follow up all commercial activities and check if they conform to municipal laws, and it calls on the community to report any observation by calling 1111.
