848 kg of vegetables and 310 of fish were destroyed, and 462 fruits confiscated

 Muscat municipality in Grand Mutrah continues its inspection campaigns to local markets

     To maintain the public`s health, Muscat municipality pays careful attention to regulate and control local markets. The municipality has carried out unannounced inspection campaigns to a number of markets during the first half of last March in accordance with local ordinance no. (1/2001) on market regulation.

     The inspection campaigns issued about 15 health fines against itinerant expatriate vendors who were engaged in random sales in the Wilayah and without a municipal license. Furthermore, goods were offered in an unhealthy way. The urban inspection department has destroyed about 848 kg of vegetables,  310 kg of fish, and 589 tobacco and milk. It has also confiscated about 462 kilograms of rotten fruits.

    Muscat Municipality calls on the community to communicate any rare violations by contacting the Muscat telecommunication center at 1111 or through the Muscat municipality pages on social media.
