Muscat Municipality participates in the fifty-fifth session of the Executive Council meeting of the Arab Towns Organization in Morocco
Muscat municipality participated in the fifty-fifth session of the Executive Council of the Arab Towns Organization, which took place in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, during the period 7-8 April 2018. The meeting has presented some reports of the Organization`s institutions, such as the Arab Institute for the Development of cities, the Centre for the Environment for Arab cities and the Cultural Action Group for Arab Cities, the Arab Forum for Intelligent Cities, the Arab Heritage Foundation and historic cities, and the Arab Cities Organization Award Foundation.
A meeting was also held discussing the report of the Secretary-General of the Organization and reviewing decisions and recommendations.
Director general of Muscat municipality in Bousher Mr. Mohammed al Abri and director of media administration Dr. Suhail ash`Shanfri both represented Muscat municipality in the meeting.
The Arab Cities Organization is an organization aims at preserving the identity and heritage of Arab cities, and to develop and modernize municipal and local institutions in Arab cities, in addition to collaborating with the organization`s member cities to study, plan and coordinate their various activities and services. The organization celebrates the Day on March 15th of each year. This year`s slogan was "Sustainable cities to make people happy".
