Personnel Welfare department of Muscat municipality  organized on Tuesday a ceremony to celebrate the international labor day which coincides on May 1 of each year. The ceremony will be conducted in cooperation with other government agencies and private sector organizations at the Sultan Qaboos sport complex in Bousher under the patronage of Mr. Qais bin Sulaiman al Kusheri, director general of Health Affairs directorate, and in the presence of a number of officials and workers from Muscat municipality.

Various activities

The ceremony has included different activities; a volleyball game, racing competition, and a tug of war. The total number of participants was 8 teams from 12 directorates and nearly over (200) runners in the marathon.
There was also an awarding ceremony honoring the winners and those of long-service workers in Muscat municipality.

Statistics

It is worth mentioning that the total number of workers in Muscat municipality is 2652 which constitute about (36%) of the total number of employees. 17% of them are Omanis while 83% are expats.
