Muscat municipality signed a memorandum of cooperation with "Oman Broadband Company" in the field of technical communication
Fiber optic network (FTTH) for the control center of traffic and traffic control and safety systems.
Muscat municipality signed today (Sunday) in Darsait a memorandum of cooperation with Oman Broadband Company for a joint cooperation to provide the infrastructure and network of fiber optic cables for a period of ten years. His Excellency the engineer Mohsin ash’ Sheikh, chairman of Muscat Municipality, signed the agreement on behalf of the municipality, whereas the CEO Eng. Mr Saeed Bin Abdullah al-Mandhiri signed the agreement on behalf Oman Broadband in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.
The memorandum provides for the parties to cooperate with each other in getting the company`s services to build and provide fiber optic network, whereas the company can benefit from the infrastructure available for the municipality in relation to current and future projects.
The collaboration also includes forming of a joint working group to coordinate and manage project activities and reporting work progress. The memorandum also provides fiber-optic network (FTTH)-when created- for the traffic control center, plus traffic control and safety systems adopted in the municipal technical standards.
